Notes on film and life
Jonathan Sarmiento is a Mexican film director, screenwriter and producer who understands cinema as a tool for awareness, human transformation and social responsibility.
His path was not linear. For three years he studied Medicine, trying to meet his family's expectations, until he found the courage to admit that his true calling was in the performing arts and cinematic storytelling. He then moved to Spain, where he trained professionally as an actor and began working in theater, film and television projects.
Working inside the artistic industry showed him both its creative dimension and some of its most complex environments. During a period of personal searching, he lived through situations that made him deeply question who he was, what he was willing to do in order to belong, and what kind of person he wanted to become.
