International Award — Italy 2026
Casablanca Award for Best International Film
At the End of the Road · International Imago Film Festival · Teramo, Italy · 2026
On August 3, 2026, Mexican filmmaker Jonathan Sarmiento received in Italy one of the most important recognitions of his career: the Casablanca Award for Best International Film for At the End of the Road, during the International Imago Film Festival held in Teramo, Italy.
This international recognition honors a work born from a very particular way of understanding cinema: telling stories that, beyond moving audiences, invite viewers to look inward, question themselves and reflect on their own lives.
At the End of the Road crossed borders to meet audiences from other cultures and confirm that deeply human stories can speak a universal language.
The award also represents years of creative search, discipline, perseverance and Jonathan Sarmiento's constant decision to build a cinematic voice of his own.
His career has not been based only on making films, but on finding what is worth telling and why.
For Jonathan, every project begins with a question, an emotion or a human conflict, and becomes — through writing, direction and audiovisual language — an experience able to stay with whoever watches it.
The Casablanca Award recognizes Jonathan's work and, at the same time, the talent of the whole artistic and technical team behind At the End of the Road.
An international recognition for a Mexican story that found an echo in Italy.
